Why do leaves appear to be in green?

•     Sun, a source of energy which distribute light and heat energy is a major factor needed for photosynthesis. As you all know the sun radiate different colors such as red, green, yellow, blue, white etc.. From these, the chloroplast in plants absorbs and use every color except green(that means green color is reflected by the absorption spectrum)So this is the reason to the plant to appear in green. This can be concluded by a simple activity explained as follows.

• Method -First you need to dip a leaf in hot water and boil. And then put it into a boiling tube with alcohol and place it in a hot water beaker. After few minutes you'll be able to see that the green color in the leaf is transmitted to the alcohol. From this we can conclude that green color is not absorbed but reflected.
